It's time to start thinking ahead to next school year. In order to continue to serve Horn School and it's students and staff in a variety of ways, the PTO is in need of new parents and staff to get involved. 6th Grade Party Planning - Saturday, April 16 at 8:30am at Sidekick
The annual 6th grade party is a longstanding tradition at Horn! If you would like to help plan the party or contribute in some way, please come to Sidekick Coffee and Books at 8:30am on 4/16. We'll get the ball rolling! Unable to join us but want to help? Email Laura (Lbroffitt@yahoo.com).
DPO Scholarship Honoree Reception
This week, the PTO honored Joan DePrenger, Mary Green and Jed Hayes at the annual DPO Scholarship Honoree Reception. A donation was made in their names to the Kate Wickham Scholarship for future teachers from our district. Thank you to all three for your years of teaching and caring for students at Horn. Joan and Mary are both retiring this year and Jed has moved to a new position.
Staff Appreciation Week - May 2-6
We love saying thank you to our wonderful school staff! A coordinator and team are needed to begin planning. Want to help plan a day? There are lots of ideas and suggestions from previous years but new ideas are always welcome. Available to help? Contact hornpto.iowacity@gmail.com.
Horn Book Fair - May 9-13
The Scholastic Book Fair is back and in person this year. More information to come but we're excited to announce the dates.
End of Year Celebration - Friday, May 13th from 5:30-7:30
Mark your calendars and plan join us for an end of year celebration outside at Horn School!
Horn School makes snacks available to all students and the snack supply is running low. If you are able to donate snacks, it would be greatly appreciated. Snacks can be ordered from Amazon and shipped directly to the school or purchased locally and dropped off. Check out the picture and links below for ideas. It is important that snacks are not manufactured with nuts and are free of gelatin. The following are great snacks we can serve. Large bags or individually packaged are both welcome.
