Horn Cookbook
It's not too late to order your 2020-2021 Horn Cookbook! The cookbook is made up of 96 pages (5.5in x 8.5in) with a metal coil binding, and includes appetizers, main dishes, side dishes, desserts, soups and salads. All shared by our Horn families!  Thank you to everyone who contributed recipes and artwork.  We're so excited to publish the new cookbook!
 
To order, complete this form (http://bit.ly/Horn-Cookbook- Order-Form) this weekend. Cost is $12 per cookbook. PayPal, cash or check accepted. Cash and check payments should be well labeled and dropped off at the Horn office. Cookbooks should be available for distribution late March. Distribution/pick-up instructions to follow.

If using PayPal:
1. Complete the order form but don't hit submit, yet
2. Click the PayPal link to pay.  After choosing payment method, click "write a note" and include the student and adult names used on order form before clicking "Donate Now"
3.  Return to order form and click submit

March PTO - Wednesday, 3/24 from 6:30-7:30

We'd love to see some new faces as we start to plan for next school year!  The Parent Teacher Organization is open to new ideas and wants to represent and support Horn students, families, and staff!  Please join us after Spring Break for our next PTO meeting. The PTO is made up of ALL parents and guardians of students attending Horn School and school staff members.  Contact hornpto.iowacity@gmail.com with any questions or suggestions! 






Horn Night at Hudson's - Wednesday, 3/24 from 4:00-10:00

Hudson's Restaurant will host a fundraiser for Horn Elementary.  Order carry-out or enjoy a meal out and Horn will receive 15% of all sales.  Invite friends and share the Facebook Event!


Yearbook Photos Needed

The Horn 2020-21 yearbook is underway and we need your help to fill the pages! 
 
We would love to receive pictures of students engaged in school and extracurricular activities:
    -virtual learning / heading off to school
    -playing their instruments
    -creating art
    -sports
    -participating in clubs or organizations

Tell us about something your student is proud to have accomplished this year:
    -community service
    -completed art project or poem

Send us a picture of how your family has spent this time together! 

You can also submit a school photo you took or had taken if you didn't make it to school for picture day.

Photo requirements:
    -Photos need to be from this school year or past summer
    -Photos should be high resolution JPEGs
    -Include the names of all students pictured. Feel free to provide a description of the activity seen in the photograph

To submit your photos: 
    -Use the REPLAYIT link to upload directly to yearbook staff:  SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOS HERE

Submitting your photo does not guarantee your photo will run in the yearbook due to space limitations, but we would like to include as many photos as possible.

6th Grade Party

The annual 6th grade party is a longstanding tradition at Horn and we plan to continue that tradition this year!  Things are a bit unpredictable right now, but last year's 6th grade parents were able to came up with creative ways to celebrate the end of the school year and congratulate the 6th graders on completing elementary school.  Email Lori at lkimura@keystoneproperty.net if you would like to help plan this year's celebration.
