Conference time is always a special treat for teachers because they get to see all of their families and enjoy yummy meals provided by the PTO.
This year, we encourage parents and students to email their teachers or post on Seesaw! Tell them what you appreciate about them, have your student draw a picture or write an email, leave a video or voice message on Seesaw! Let's tell our Horn teachers and staff how much we appreciate their hard work this fall.
Scholastic Book Fair - Open until December 8
The annual book fair is open online! Books are always great gifts but there are also many other items available. Orders will be delivered directly to your home (free shipping on book-only purchases over $25)! Share the link with family and friends! 25% of all purchases will directly benefit the Horn School. Each teacher also has a classroom e-wallet if you want to give them a classroom gift. Check your email or contact your child's teacher for the link. 2019-2020 Yearbooks
It's not too late to get a yearbook. Email lisa.pauley@iowacityschools.org. Yearbooks must be paid for prior to picking them up. They cost $10 each.
Kids Kreations
Our Kids Kreations store will be open throughout the school year! You can have your child's artwork turned into a variety items to enjoy around your home or give as a gift. Visit www.kidskreations.us to see all of the options. This year, you will need to upload your student's artwork or choose a favorite family photo if you want to place an order. Items will be shipped directly to you (new orders will not arrive in time for the holidays). This is a school fundraiser but please don't feel obligated to order. Steps to order:
1. Use a camera or scanner to make a digital file of artwork (Helpful Hints: go outside, place art flat on the ground with no direct sunlight and no shadows, stand over art, take photo, crop art)
2. Go to www.KidsKreations.us
3. Click "Upload Artwork" (green button at top)
4. Choose art to upload
5. Rotate art if needed
6. Fill in Artist Name, Teacher and Grade
7. View products with your art
8. Add products to your cart
9. Click on "Cart" to check out
10. Click on "yes, find my organization"
11. Type "Horn Elementary School" in search field
12. Click "Okay" (blue button)
13. Choose "Direct Shipping"
14. Submit payment
If your family needs assistance getting winter items for your Horn student and would like to see if we have items available in their size, please contact Megan Recker, the Student and Family Advocate.
