Horn Cookbook Recipe & Artwork Submissions

Horn staff, students and families are invited to share a recipe for our 2020-2021 Horn Elementary Cookbook, being produced by the PTO!  We were sad to miss International Night this fall but still want to celebrate together by sharing a family favorite recipe.

Sections are: Appetizers, Soups and Salads, Main Dishes, Side Dishes and Desserts. To submit one or more recipes, complete this form (one form per recipe).

 

Student artwork related to the themes of Horn Elementary; diverse, proud, strong; food; and community are also being sought for inclusion in the cookbook. Art submissions may be dropped at the Horn Elementary office.

 

The due date for both recipes and artwork is Wednesday, Jan. 20. The book will be available later in the year and would make a terrific gift, as well as a wonderful memento of your time at Horn. Questions? Email Michelle at michellemsmoore@gmail.com.

PTO Minutes

Want to catch up on the most recent PTO meeting.  You can find this school year's minutes here.  Our next PTO meeting will be Wednesday, January 13 from 6:30-7:30 on Zoom.  The PTO is made up of all parents and guardians of students attending Horn School and school staff members.

2019-2020 Yearbooks

It's not too late to get a yearbook.  Email lisa.pauley@iowacityschools.org.  Yearbooks must be paid for prior to picking them up.  They cost $10 each.

Staff Appreciation

Thank you to everyone who reached out to thank the teachers and staff at Horn the past couple of weeks.  The PTO also left a sweet treat in the staff lounge to show our appreciation for the incredible job everyone is doing.

Winter Clothing

If your family needs assistance getting winter items for your Horn student and would like to see if we have items available in their size, please contact Megan Recker, the Student and Family Advocate.  You can email her at recker.megan@iowacityschools.org or call her at 319-688-1179.   Winter items are limited in number and we cannot guarantee availability of all items in all sizes.
