Conference Meals - November 14 & 19
Each fall, families at Horn provide meals for the school staff during Parent Teacher Conferences. Volunteers are needed to to donate food and items as well as help with set-up and clean-up for our upcoming meals. Please take a look and sign-up here if you are able to bring something.
Costume & Clothing Distribution - October 26 from 9:00-3:00
Thank you for the costume donations! They have been donated to a winter clothing distribution being held at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church (140 Gathering Place Ln, Iowa City, IA 52246). Come anytime for a good selection. New items are added every hour. This is a free distribution of warm clothing from pre-school (including infants) through high school ages, along with coats, hats, gloves, boots and other winter clothing for all ages. Adult items are also available. Children must be present to receive a coat. Sponsored by the Consultation of Religious Communities.
Staff Appreciation

Hearing Screening Volunteers - November 1
Students will have their hearing checked during the school day. Volunteers are needed to help students get to and from class. Please consider signing up for 1 or more 30 minutes slots.
If your family has new or gently used winter items that you've outgrown, please consider dropping them off in the donation box located in the front office. Items needed include winter coats, snow pants, boots, mittens, gloves, long sleeved shirts, sweatshirts, and pants.
It's hard to believe, but winter is coming soon! Snow, ice, and temperatures that drop below freezing. To keep your child safe from cold-weather injuries, they should come to school every day during the winter months with a warm coat, hat, and gloves or mittens. Once the snow and ice arrives they should also have winter boots and snow pants.If your family needs assistance getting winter items for your Horn student and would like to see if we have items available in their size, please contact Megan Recker, the Student and Family Advocate.
