PTO Meeting and Carnival Planning Meeting
Our next PTO meeting will be on Tuesday, January 8 from 6:30-7:30 in the Horn library. The fourth grade teachers, as well as the band and orchestra directors, will come to tell us about what has been happening in their classes. We hope you will be able to attend.
Immediately following the PTO meeting, we’ll begin to plan the school carnival which will be held Saturday, March 2. Anyone who would like to learn more about the carnival, has new ideas, or would like to help with the Hornet Café, Silent Auction, Games, Ticket Sales, Prize Room or Cake Walk is encouraged to attend. Attention Horn Hornets! Calling all Future Scientists! All 1st-6th graders are invited to participate in the annual Horn Science Fair which will occur on Saturday February 16th. The Operation Backpack sign up has been updated for the remaining school year. We will be starting back up after winter break. Please consider providing fresh fruit or carrots for this program. Your participation helps us supplement the food provided by HACAP (Hawkeye Area Community Action Program) for qualifying students from Horn and Borlaug.

As we look ahead, we need to fill a few more volunteer spots to help make things run smoothly in the spring. As we come to the end of 2018, some may be looking to make end-of-year donations.
